Been AWOL

Sorry I haven't posted for a while, May and June are difficult months for me, won't bore you with why, but we have a new grandson, and that pushed me back into getting on with some card making. George Edward was born at 11.12pm on July 3rd, weighing 6lb 6oz, and he's gorgeous. As we didn't know what sex the baby was going to be I started 2 cards, 1 pink, 1 blue, and finished the blue one as soon as we got the news.

It's an 8x8 card and the image is from a MCS cd, sentiment computer generated and cut with nesties, I also decorated the inside

and here's the verse I added

I also decorated a plain gift bag with the same image, and changed the handles to ribbon, instead of brown cord
I am pleased with how they all turned out, just need someone to have a baby girl now, then I can finish off the pink card.
Thank you for visiting my blog and for any comment you leave, off now to do some blog hopping, love Irene xx

Less is More

Over at Less is More this week the challenge is Monochrome, so either black and white or shades of one colour, and here is my effort
I have chosen shades of brown, and although the card I have used as a mat looks black it is dark brown, I thought I had some brown pearls but couldn't find them, so used cream coloured ones, hope thats okay.
Less is More  monochrome
I am going away for a few days and have a pile of ironing to do, so must get cracking, but will try and leave comments on other cards later in the week.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog, love Irene xx

PICK A SQUARE

The recipe this week at   Less is More is pick a square
with a choise of five. I have chosen bottom left.

The swirl and sentiment stamp are both from papermania, stamped using victorian velvet distress ink, I have then added a silk flower and tiny white pearls, which don't show up very well.
