Hi Again

First of all I would like to welcome my new follower Julieanne, thank you for following my blog.Well  I have finally given in and bought a Grandcalibur, mainly as now that I am making larger cards, I need larger embossing folders, and it was a good price on Ideal World. So I have had to have a move round to make room for it, and have had a clearout at the same time. How did I accumilate all this stuff? Well the tidy up is nearly finished, and I have a bag of rubbish, a pile of stuff for the grandkids craft box, and some things which I may sell, or should I keep them, will I need them?
Anyway I have managed to make a card today, quite a simple one, but I do like it.

I embossed the lines on the background card, using my Hougie board, and turned a strip the other way for the border. The butterfly is cut with a Marianne die, and the flowers punched with Martha Stewart and Tonic punches, and the papers are from the Papermania  birdsong pack.

Gardening Weather

Well the sunshine has taken hubby out into the garden, he's not really a gardener, but went out to do a bit of tidying up, he seems to have gone a bit mad with the loppers, hope it all grows back!! Anyway my card today is for my son-in-law who loves gardening

the image is a digi from here and is coloured with copics, and the watering can was a free stamp with a mag. I cut the leaves using my silhouette and they are also coloured with copics, and the messages are computer generated

The dreaded male card

I have a couple of male cards to make, but have been putting them off, so after a lovely long weekend in Birmingham, visiting family, I thought that i'd better make a start, so here is the first one, it's for my brother's birthday, which is on the 29th of Feb. As  it's not a leap year this year he will celebrate on the 1st March, so it should arrive in time.

The die cuts were cut on my Silhouette machine, I really must use it more, and I used gilding flakes for the back of the numbers, rather messy, but worth it. The backing paper and sentiment were made using MCS graphics programme.

Back To The Beginning

When I started making cards, all those years ago, the first things I bought were a stamp, some ink, embossing powder, and a heat gun, and the card I have to show today has used those things. Now the stamps are fairly new, but the ink and embossing powder could possibly be the first ones I bought, and the heat gun is still going strong. In fact I never really got the hang of heat embossing, I always seemed to get a stray bit of embossing powder, but the purchase of an anti static bag has solved the problem, and my card making has gone full circle

I even dare show a close up of the heart

I have also used a quicky glue pen, cosmic shimmer glue and some ribbon.

Something Different

Hi, well todays offering is a bit different, I was having a sort out and found some cheap note pads in amongst some magazines, so I thought I would decorate them up, and here is the first one.

I think the stamp is a PB one coloured with copics and cut with a scalloped circle nestie, and i've added a few pearls.
I think this might be a project for the grandchildren to do at half-term, should keep them busy for a while.
